Quality Matters

If your media is buffering, or Plex is telling you that your internet connection is not fast enough, then you may need to change the quality of your stream.

Streaming in “Original” quality is the best way to watch, but if you don’t have a fast enough connection speed then you can change the quality by pausing and then clicking the “Playback Setting” button, which looks like two sliders. From here you can change the quality to something your internet can handle.

Default

If you find you are always having to change the stream quality, you can change what the default quality is.

To change the default streaming quality, from the main menu go to Settings > Quality and select the video quality setting that works best for you.

Direct Streams

Direct streams, aka “original quality” is the best way to view content from Billflix. By doing this the server is sending the movie or show directly to your viewing platform with no alterations.

By adding subtitles, or changing the quality, the server has to alter (transcode) whatever you’re watching to send it to you. This reduces the quality and puts additional load on the server.

The server is built to handle multiple 4k streams at a time, but the key takeaway is that “original quality” is the best.
